While I can do a bit of pencil sketching or watercolour; these days I tend to stick to encaustic art. It is a very old artform and involves melting coloured waxes for its effect. I'd recommend this site if you want to know more.
A few of my favourite pictures are below, click on them for larger images. Most are A6 sized. "Star over Bethlehem" (at A4) is the largest piece I have done.
Angel
One of my earlier works. I still love it.
Exodus 1
Smoke by day and a pillar of fire by night
Star over Bethlehem
One of the largest works I have done (I only rarely go up to A4) and has been used on Christmas Cards and Carol Concert programs. A traditional nativity scene in an unconventional style.
Crucifix
Using a device like a soldering iron you can create detailed effects.
Bombardment
I have a feeling this ended up on a Birthday card...
Exodus 2
Water in the desert, dry land in the sea
Nebula
My scanner got dusty so when I scanned in this work, flecs of dust gleamed like stars. Much easier to see on the full size version.
Mermaid
This art form is best suited to abstract images, the ones where it looks as I intended like this piece are in the minority.
Flatlands
Sci-fi landscapes are also easy to do. Someone should write a book...
21st Century Love
My lovely wife has a similar picture on her latest Valentine's Day card.
Music
This was an inlay I used for a bass guitar.
